Florida bicyclist completes nearly 2,400-mile journey to America’s ‘first mile’
Robert Bryant successfully rode a bicycle more than 2,000 miles from Key West, Florida, to the America’s First Mile monument in Fort Kent, where he arrived on Saturday. Bryant set out on his bicycle in late March for the 2,369-mile journey on the longest north-south stretch of road in the country to raise funds for cancer research.

Bookstore patrons donate to Edgar J. Paradis Fund
Bogan Books provides a donation of $300 from the patrons of her store. They also donated three books to the oncology unit at Northern Maine Medical Center for patients to enjoy while receiving treatment locally. Each book was chosen with a purpose in mind.

Paradis Cancer Fund provides aid to families in St. John Valley
In its 28th year, the Tour experienced another successful event on Aug. 19. A total of 77 participants registered for the event. Supported by 70 dedicated volunteer individuals and community groups. Total pledges and sponsorships raised more than $25,000 at this year’s event.

Youngsters raise donations for Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund
The youngsters raised almost $300 with two popup lemonade stands and challenged other youngsters in the St. John Valley to create their own roadside stands to sell goods to raise money for the cancer fund.

Angel Snowfest
The 4th Annual Angel Snowfest donates $14,000 to the Paradis Cancer Fund. Since 2014, the Angel Snowfest has donated nearly $52,000. Thank you to the Angel Snowfest organizers and all who participated for this generous donation!

Derby reels in $6,500 for the Edgar j paradis cancer fund

A Special dedication- a dream made possible
Northern Maine Medical Center (NNMC) Chief Executive Officer, Peter Sirois, announced that the hospital’s annual report to the community for 2016, is being dedicated to the people who have made the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund what it is today. Sirois said, “We are deeply grateful for the hard work and years of dedication that brought Edgar (Guy) Paradis’ dream to fruition.”

President of local Union 291 at Twin Rivers Paper Company, presented the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund with a memorial donation. “We usually donate to a charity when one of our members experiences a loss. So many of us have been touched by cancer, we decided to donate to the Cancer Fund this time.”
